What brought so much attention to little miss sunshie was the different types of characters. Either it was the brother who didn't speak, mom that supports everything her child does, drug addict grandfather, father thats trying to pitch an invention he thought of, suicidal uncle and the young daughter that only wants to become " Little Miss Sunshine." When you put all these together you get a family with their typical financial and personal issues. The wide range of characters is what give this movie personality and I believe what made so many poeple fall in love iwth it. I can relate to the financial issues the family is facing. Maybe not to their defree but there has been times where money is tight and causes strees on my family. My favorite character in this film is Steve Carell's role as the crazy uncle. Even though he's gay he rarely shows it other than buying the gay porn maganize. He comes off as a dumby but really is an intelligent, down to earth man. His dry humor throughout the movie and witty remarks always keeps your attention. My favorite lie from the whole movie is when their all at the dinner table and Dwayne is writing that he " hates everyone." And steve carell goes " welre all with you on that one dwayne." I laughed so hard. In the article by Robert Hofter, I like how he states that this movie is so close to reality of many families in financial problems these days. Also how the movie addresses financial anxiety and how many can relate to that. Lastly in the article by Cohen, I like how he states that the car kind of paly a role of a character. There's so much time spend in that voltswagon.Using many scenes with the van Cohen says " you can't do an movie that comes out this good without a strong team effort." This is exactly what the cast of Little Miss Sunshine contributed with doing many scenes on these different voltswagons.
